Hazard.
Standard violated: 1926.501(d)(16)(iii): Doubled
lanyards - Personal fall arrest system rigged such that employee could free
fall more than 6'. Lanyard length extended by connecting two six foot
lanyards.
Corrective Action: Lanyard length should be limited to six
foot. |

hanging from his fall protection. Employee working at the Lambeau Field
Renovation project in Green Bay, WI., slipped from the steel beam he was
working on. The worker was approximately six stories above ground level.
Because he was wearing fall protection he was not injured and returned to
work shortly after his rescue. The Lambeau Field Partnership between OSHA
and the contractors on site requires 100% use of fall protection above 6
feet.
