Earn While You Learn!
The Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Pipefitting Education Center (ARPEC) allows you to learn how to install and service air conditioning, refrigeration and pipefitting systems while being paid. Our unique three- and five-year programs permit you to work full time during the day in the air conditioning industry and attend tuition-free related instruction classes. Too good to be true? No. In fact, the program is regulated and backed by the Florida Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training.
A Foremost Apprenticeship School
Our center encompasses 16,000 square feet, with ample shop and classroom space, top-notch equipment and licensed field journeymen as instructors. The facility is easily accessible to students from both Dade and Broward counties.
Our program is a combination of field training and classroom instruction. Courses meet twice per week and are conducted from September through May. Related instruction reinforces training received out in the field daily.
As an apprentice, you will work a 40 hour week (weather and job conditions permitting) while being paid. Your training is monitored by journeymen who work with you during the day.
The joint apprenticeship Committee ensures that
you receive minimum training in all phases of
the industry. After five years of apprentice work
you may have had a hand in the completion of hospitals,
high-rise office buildings, airport fuel systems,
banks, or nuclear power plants. Upon graduation
you will receive a certificate from the State
of Florida as a qualified journeyman and be licensed
by Dade or Broward counties.
